Terms of Service
Last updated June 2026. This is a working draft for the founder program.
These terms govern your firm’s use of Petal, the software provided by Noctworks, Inc. By using the service you agree to them.
The service
Petal helps tax and accounting firms read sources, draft work, reconcile records, and manage client requests. Petal assists; it does not replace the professional judgment of a licensed preparer. Every output is yours to review and approve before it is relied upon.
Your account
You are responsible for your account, your users, and the accuracy of the information your firm connects. Keep credentials secure and tell us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Petal to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or attempt to access data that isn’t yours. You retain ownership of the data you bring; we use it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Professional responsibility
Filings, advice, and records produced with Petal remain the responsibility of the firm and the preparer who signs them. Petal surfaces citations and flags judgment calls, but the final determination is always yours.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Noctworks is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated to firms in the program. Questions? Reach the team.
